Happy New Year everyone! It seems as if a couple of months ago we’ve celebrated the beginning of 2011. Time definitely flies. Sometimes it even feels as if every year gets by faster and faster. I’m not a big resolution kind of person – I just can’t keep too many of those. However, the one thing that I really wish we could all work on this year is loving the people around us. Its easy to say, but tough to do kind of thing. Yet, if, with whatever we do, we would invest care and love for the people, it could turn the world upside down. On the other hand, if we work really hard and gain the whole world, but have not love – its useless…
Now, I think its pretty awesome to start blogging in the New Year with pictures of our BRAND NEW nephew, Caleb! He is an absolutely adorable little man and we are so happy for Inna and Roman. Check out a few photos of this little treasure of theirs…

The end of a year, traditionally is the time, when we can slow down and, finally, look back and realize what really happened within the past 12 months. Often times we assume that with more and more knowledge, advanced technology, and so called “time-saving” devices we can become more efficient with what we do, can accomplish more, and thus make more money to buy more of the “time-saving” devices (aka: iphones, ipads, computers etc) The result of this all is a chronic shortage of time and an extremely high pace of life. Having all this in mind, I caught ourselves having a tendency to live life thinking about tomorrow, rather than taking time and enjoying what we have today. Now, as I have more time to think about it, I find it priceless to wake up in the morning and enjoy every bits of what’s around us. In a blink of an eye, kids whining becomes cute, every little step of making espresso is especially enjoyable, freezing air becomes crispy fresh, and we can stop being so serious and maybe look at ourselves in a mirror and have a good laugh… For me, life started to make much more sense this way. And as I realize what we already have and what we’ve experienced this year – joy, happiness, and thankfulness are the three words that come to mind.

With this last post of the year we wanted all of you to get a glimpse of who we are and what we look like. We are Emik and Yana – proud parents of Nathan(the older one) and Justin, – most precious little people in our lives.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all! Thank you all for being supportive and so awesome!

It was our great pleasure to be able to photograph Nick and Theresa again. The first time it was their wedding, and now, as their family is growing, we had fun doing Theresa’s maternity photos. Despite the winter season, we did get some sunshine that day – score for the weather:)

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Hey everyone! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving and didn’t forget to start the countdown for Christmas. As I mentioned in a previous post, tonight we are blogging the last wedding of the 2011 season. Often times, it is so easy for us humans to get caught up with the routine of life, to-do lists, and thinking ahead mentality. And, to be honest with you, we are pretty bad at that ourselves. However, right after this wonderful wedding of Matt and Mayra, when Yana and I sat in the car, breathed out and said “well done! That was the last wedding of the year…”, we couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with this awesome feeling of being thankful and grateful to God for blessing us with such a great privilege in life to, first, be able to discover who you are, and, second, be able to do what you love. Its been a great year for our business and Matt and Mayra’s wedding was an awesome way to capitalize it.  Besides having such privilege to photograph at one of the coolest venues, the Smog Shoppe, both, Matt and Mayra, and the whole wedding overall, were so much fun and enjoyment. We truly loved it and couldn’t think of a better way to finish up the year. So, congrats again to Matt and Mayra, and now scroll down to view some photos…

Hello everyone! We’re cutting it close to the holidays with this post. Yet its a great opportunity for us to wish all of you to have a great, happy Thanksgiving. Its has definitely been a great year to be thankful for and we’ll get into more detail on that a little later, when the last wedding of this season will be posted on this blog. But for now, we’re happy to introduce to you David and Rheanna. We were thrilled to drive down to San Luis Obispo to do their engagement photos. After scoping some location, we ended up doing this urban style shoot with them, having fun exploring the hidden gems in that wonderful town.

Start scrolling :)
