A beautiful couple , a wonderful wedding! It was fantastic. The whole feel of it: so earthy. The wedding day of Jeremy and Lindsey took place at Shaver Lake, CA. The style they chose was very well complemented by the scenery and surroundings of Shaver Lake area. And we absolutely loved the romance and love that filled the day around them. It was truly a beautiful day. I must mention, it wasn’t typical to have freezing temperatures in the end of May, here in California. Yet, it felt like it only got the day going, and, with all the blankets, fire and great movement on the dace floor, it only made it great. So, cheers to Jeremy and Lindsey. Take a look at these:

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the past, particularly about the years we’ve lived together with Yana. I couldn’t help but joyfully smile each time I would realize how amazingly blessed we are to do what we adore and love in life. Of course, it is wonderful to own a business, build your own schedule, be your own boss kind of things. And sure, those are nice byproducts of owning a business, but not even near its the focus of it. Yet, one of the biggest blessings in life  is to know how you’re wired and to be able to apply it in your life. And that of itself makes me feel happy.

To be honest with you, its not really that we knew photography would be our calling. We sort of stumbled on it as life did its unpredictable turns with us. And at first it was unbelievable and scary to invest into something that you aren’t sure of at all. In fact, when we first picked up a DSLR in our hands, we knew absolutely zero about anything in regards to photography as an art, or the equipment. I remember picking up a lens not even knowing how to read all that its written on it. It was really hard getting into photography. Besides constantly having a million of new questions about every single thing, we didn’t have absolutely anybody who would be nice and kind enough to share some of that information with us. So little by little, every bit of a thing we now do, we had to learn it on our own. Try things out, see what works and what doesn’t and simply rely on God and each other for support and strength to go on.

So, looking back at our journey and counting our blessings, we wanted to give back and share some of the valuable information, starting from the first days we owned a DSLR up until today. Surely, some of you are in the same boat as we were back in the days and through a series of many personal posts, we’ll be sharing bits and pieces of most important steps we’ve taken along the way.

Annnddd…. recently we took some time off and took a trip to Santa Barbara…here is just a few out of gazillion photos we took!

Vitaliy Kuchkovskiy: ( May 27, 2011 4:02 am ) Its encouraging to read about a couple who has been through the starting stages of photography since my wife and I are starting this journey as well. I'm excited that the Lord has revealed how He has wired you. May you continue to use that for His glory!

admin: ( May 18, 2011 4:20 am ) @Dan M we use a combination of different lenses. What particular shot are you talking about? its either 35f1.4, 70-200, a 50f1.4 or an 85f1.8

Dan M.: ( May 17, 2011 2:05 am ) Fantastic photos! What lens did you guys use for these shots? A 50mm? I'm just curious because it looks like you have a pretty low f/stop in those photos. Love the depth of field!

Jayne: ( May 6, 2011 5:05 am ) 6th shot from the bottom is my favorite!

Lidia S: ( May 6, 2011 4:48 am ) Good job guys, beautiful Pictures and Beautiful girl. :)

Its hard to pick your best photos. We’ve worked with them for so many hours that they seem to us ordinary, nothing special kind of photos. “Well, maybe they are…” – we start thinking.

Just recently, I’ve listened to a podcast from Mark Driscoll’s series of sermons on the gospel of Luke. The one about being fruitful. One of the big points I really liked, was that Mark encouraged not only try hard to do good work, thus bring more “figs” (allegory for works), but also count your “figs”. And I thought to my self that its probably a lost art to actually step back and appreciate what’s been done in the past year. So, here we are, trying to take off the eyes of photographers, and put on the eyes of a “normal” person:) – its hard to do, if you ask me. Not hard to be normal, but hard to be satisfied with what you already have.

So, help us, look through the photos, critique, leave a comment, write an email, call or ignore… anything will do:)
